Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), also referred to as the "Vampire Facial" has gained popularity in recent years as a natural skin rejuvenation treatment. However, there is one major drawback; it can be a quite painful procedure.
PRP has long been used as a tissue healing agent in arthritic joints and scalp hair loss for many decades.PRP has also been used as a healing agent to speed up the recovery process after many surgical procedures such as Hair Transplant Surgery, Vaser Liposuction, Blepharoplasty, Fat grafting and facelift surgery to name a few.
In 2009, Dr Jadoon started using PRP as an adjuct therapy with Fraxel Skin Resurfacing to improve the clinical resutls and reduce treatment downtime.
The idea was simple; why not use the existing small entry holes created by Fraxel laser or the skin needling device, to infuse the PRP solution into the skin instead of injecting it using painful injections.
Dr Jadoon presented this treatment combination as a case study in 2013 Melbourne, Victoria A5M Anti-Ageing Conference as a Guest Speaker.
The combined effects of Fraxel Laser and PRP as adjuct therapy deliver far superior skin rejuvenation results.

The procedure takes about 60 minutes. A very strong, specially formulated numbing cream is applied for 30 minutes. The procedure itself takes approximately 30 minutes.
The procedure is far less painful than conventional PRP treatment which requires hundreds of injections. We use a very strong numbing cream to numb the treatment area. The Fraxel Laser treatment itself is very tolerable and the energy settings used are very different from the settings used for the routine Fraxel CO2 laser. Hence the downtime and discomfort are minimal.
The downtime is approximately three to five days of redness and mild swelling.
Patients with unrealistic expectations or those suffering from a chronic medical condition affecting their immune system are not good candidates.
Full results are usually noticeable about six to eight weeks after the treatment. However, most patients notice a significant improvement soon after the initial healing.

Most patients opt to have this treatment once every six to twelve months for ongoing benefits. However, The results from a single treatment can last up to twenty-four months if higher Fraxel Laser energy settings are used.
